meet the team

 John Griffin

John Griffin (M.D.)

John started the business with his brother Kevin in 1994. The Company's origins are based around a close association with the Dairy Industry through Kevin's Export Dairy trading company. Over the years the Company has expanded the business into other manufactoring sectors which are serviced with a wide range of ingredients and inclusions. Prior to 1994 John worked in the Logistics Industry and also moved into the area of Business Consulting before the Griffin Foods journey began.

Outside of Family time John likes to indulge in his passion for motorcycling and has for many years been learning how to play golf, not very successfully sadly.

Patrick Kavanagh (Sales Director)


Patrick's early career was with the Falconis bakery group in London, which  became part of the Northern Foods Group in the early 90’s. He was responsible for sales growth within contract catering, independent groups and a wide array of food outlets including hotels and restaurants. Patrick went on to join Greenhalgh’s Craft Bakery, a family business in North West England for 6 years, gaining invaluable experience within the multiples, foodservice, export, wholesale and van fleet sales as well as the company’s own retail shops. He was instrumental in helping the company to achieve the major accolade as “ The Craft Baked Business of the Year “ award at the bakery industry awards.

In 2002 he returned to Ireland and completed a years’ project with Cuisine de France introducing the “ La Brea “ brand and looking after the total bread category before joining the Queally Group responsible for Pasta Concepts sales and development into UK mainland and Europe, working with major food and restaurant chains for development and innovative concepts driving business growth opportunities.

Patrick  joined Griffin Foods in 2010 to head up sales and marketing for the company and looks after the development of the business in ingredients and food innovation throughout the various market sectors.

Sean Deignan (Business Development Manager)
Sean has worked all of his career in the food industry. He spent the first 20 years with Shamrock Foods (now part of Valeo Foods), in the mid 1990's, Sean established his own logistics services business, which he ran for 11 years.

Sean joined the Griffin Foods team in early 2013. He works closely with the team to identify opportunities for growth and has embraced the Griffin culture of service excellence for all it's customers.
Sean has a B.Comm. and an MBA from University College Dublin, a Graduateship in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland and a Diploma in Digital Marketing.

He enjoys the occasional game of golf or social tennis and loves to travel.

 Brian O'Neill (Financial Director)

Brian O Neill is a qualified chartered accountant with 25 years experience in Industry. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters Degree from UCD, he qualified as an accountant having served his time with Ernst and Young Chartered Accountants.

Brian has worked with Multi-national and family owned companies at senior finance levels in both local and European roles.

Brian has been a member of the Griffin Foods Team since 2013 and works closely to support the business. In his spare time Brian is a cyclist, wood turner and works as a mediator.

 Gemma Mulrooney  Gemma Mulrooney (Office Manager)

Gemma joined Griffin Foods in September 2011.

She had spent her previous years working in the Aerospace sector in Canada, Pharmaceutical, IT & Logistics sector in Ireland.

She has a Diploma from Ryerson University in Toronto in Purchasing & Materials Management.

She has a passion for customer service and for finding a solution to every problem.

Gemma is actively involved in a number of sporting organisations in the Dublin area.

Tracey Anderson Tracey Anderson (Sales Administrator)

Tracey is responsible for processing of orders and issuing of invoices, Tracey has been with the team for over 10 years. 

 Monica Corrigan  Monica Corrigan (Accounts Manager)

Monica joined the team in 1997 and is the keeper of the keys controlling both debtors and creditors for the business.

Monica takes her role very seriously and when she is not looking after Suppliers, Customers and our Bankers, she is the resident agony aunt for all our woes and troubles.

In her spare time Monica is very devoted to the happiness and wellbeing of her family.

Samantha is responsible for looking after Homebaking.ie aswell as looking asfter transport.

David Hughes (Warehouse)

David has been with the team since 2010 and is jointly responsible for the day to day running of the warehouse.

Davids duties include picking and packing of orders, loading and offloading trucks aswell as dealing with customers.

 steven  Steven McKenna (Warehouse)

Steven became part of the team in 2006, his background was in the health service sector where he spent over 15 years. He is responsible for the daily running of the warehouse including  picking and shipping orders.   

Away from work Steven is a husband and father to 3 children, he is a licensed amateur radio operator since 2006 and has been involved with internet radio since 2010.  His ambition is to win the lottery and start a new chapter in his life.

All our warehouse staff are fully trained and adhere to our HACCP policy
